Frequently asked questions

How can I unlock all lessons for a student?

By default, all lessons in Chessity are locked. Students play lessons step by step via Chessto's learning path. Chessto automatically assigns tasks and provides just-in-time coaching: it monitors which lesson(s) a child still needs to complete to earn a new sticker on the way to the next exam.

However, as a teacher, you can choose to unlock all lessons for a student. This means the student has immediate access to all lessons and can freely choose where to start. It also means a student will no longer receive automatic Chessto tasks and cannot take exams. Unlocking lessons is a feature mainly used by teachers themselves.

You unlock the lessons in the Student Management:

Note!

Children often overestimate their own level (by a lot). They then start with lessons that are too difficult, leading to frustration. Taking a step back is difficult for many children. Our advice is to be very cautious with unlocking all lessons! Using the entry test is the best method to quickly get children working at their own level.
