Improving a Piece 3

After your pieces are developed in the opening, the middlegame begins. Your task is then to optimize the position of all your pieces. Which piece is well-placed? Which piece needs improvement? Even well-placed pieces can often be utilized better. Look at the coordination between your pieces and investigate where your opponent is vulnerable.

Improve the position of one of your pieces. Find a strong square for a piece or enhance the cooperation between your pieces.
