Sometimes something extra is needed to defend against a discovered attack and the ideas from the previous lesson are not enough. The counterattack can then be an important means of preventing material loss.

What should you do?

Win material by performing a discovered attack. Be careful not to give the other player a chance to defend by counterattacking.
