Clever captures (1)

In this lesson, you will learn to decide which piece to capture. If you make the wrong choice, you’ll lose points.

Have a look at the example.
White’s rook can capture either the bishop or the knight. Taking the bishop is a clever capture. It earns White 3 points.
Taking the knight is not a smart thing to do, as Black’s bishop is defending it. If this bishop takes the white rook in return, White loses points.

Before taking, always make sure that your captures are safe. Look at your opponent’s pieces before you make your move.

What do you have to do?
Make a safe capturing move.
