Defense: Interposing

Attacking is great fun, but defending is also very important in chess. After all, you don't want to lose pieces if you don't have to.

When it comes to defending we often think first of moving away, protecting or capturing. But there are other ways to defend a piece, for example by blocking the attack. You are going to practice with that in this lesson.

Interpose a piece between the attacker and the piece in danger. This way you block the attack and the other can't win any material.

What do you have to do?

Defend a piece by interposing with a piece to block the attack.
