Our former World Chess Champion Garry Kasparov was in Seoul to participate in a local sports fair. And since South Korea is the capital of eSports, it was inevitable for him to weigh in on League of Legends and StarCraft, which are essentially the number one rivals of chess. I was inspired by this blog.

Some questions came to my mind. Why can’t we compete with games like League of Legends? Those games succeed in giving the player the feeling that he understands the game. The game will grow with the skills of the player.

If Chess wants to compete with those games, we need to lower the threshold for learning chess. Most Children like to learn Chess. The point is that before they are really grabbed by the game, they quit. Can you imagine that you will quit chess, after you have learned how to win with a brilliant attack? So, that's the challege for chess coaches and Chessity to overcome!

How can we compete even more with games like League of Legends? I like to challenge you to tell us what we need to do!
