Here's a poem by Vladimir Nabokov:

The Russian Song:

I dream of simple tender things:

a moonlit road and tinkling bells.

Ah, drearly the coachboy sings,

but sadness into beauty swells;

swells, and is lost in moonlight dim...

the singer sighs, and then the moon

full gently passes back to him

the quivering, unfinished tune.

In distant lands, on hill and plain,

thus do I dream,  when nights are long, -

and memory gives back again

the whisper of that long-lost song.

                                                          -- Vladimir Nabakov

@Mihir, on puzzle number 1, If Bxf4, the black king can take the knight on g4.

I will post the answer in tomorrow's tactics challenge! Hope more people will try out the puzzles!

Sorry to say but The game may be drawn if each player has made at least the last 50 moves without the movement of any pawn and without any capture
Labelle_play 04:39 - 1 Aug 2014
For puzzle number 1, I agree with chess princess, 1.Qxf7 -etc. Furthermore, if Black plays 1...RxNg5, then 2.Bxf5, discovered checkmate.

For puzzle number 2, I propose 1.Kc5. Do not forget that the N on d5 is pinned (that is the point of 1.Kc5).

sssaaammm_play 15:53 - 5 Aug 2014
Sry Be5 is met by Bg8!
