Defense: moving away (1)

If one of your pieces is under attack, you have a problem.
You don’t want to lose your piece.
So you need to do something to defend it. One way to defend a piece is by moving your piece.

In this lesson, we will practise this.

Have a look at the example.

The black rook want to capture the white knight.
The knigt moves to a safe square.
Here, it is not possible for the rook to take the knight.

Defending when there are still many pieces on the board is not easy.
But you’ll get better with practise.
You won’t give away your pieces anymore. This will make you a pretty good chess player!

What do you have to do?
Defend your piece by moving it.
