Vulnerability in the Opening 1

Every game begins with an open battle for control of the board, and vulnerabilities can quickly arise. During the opening, small mistakes can rapidly lead to big problems because pieces are not yet well-developed and the king may still be in the center of the board. A careless pawn move or an early king move can weaken your defense, giving your opponent opportunities to attack quickly.

What do you have to do?

In this lesson, your opponent has not played the opening correctly, and you can immediately take advantage of it. Look for weaknesses in the opponent’s position and see if you can directly launch an attack on the king.
