My Journey as a Beginner Chess Player
I wanted to share my experiences with chess and Chessity as a new player, so that more and more newcomers could refer to this blog for guidance or information, since my first blog about "The Benefits of Chess" got a ton of attention :)
I had played chess when I was very young (5-6 years old) and it was interesting because back then there really weren't any good games to play apart from going outside.
As I grew older, chess became more and more distant, my attention was focused on new and more interesting things like computer games, the internet, television and an array of 'distractions'. Up until my late teens I have never looked back to chess, spending my time with first-player shooters, RPG's and MMORPG's.
But as I grew older, the realization that those games only provided amusement quickly came and I decided to do something about it, in other words, to finally start growing not only in a physical sense, but also in a mental one.
I remembered chess and the load of benefits and satisfaction it had given me. Searching for a place where my new goals could be achieved I found Chessity and the content inside. "Gaming your Training" was exactly what I was looking for, because Chess replaced my need of amusement and it added a nice little bonus of benefits.
So in conclusion, I am now in a much better place than I was earlier. I am getting better, I am setting goals for my life and I am having a blast playing chess! This has truly been an amazing journey and I am still amazed how a board game can change your view on life so dramatically.
So, having heard my story - what's yours?
